Chiang Mai SEO Conference 2023: SEO Professionals Unite

Recap of CMSEO 2023, the people I learned from, and the topical authority frameworks that started to dominate the conversation.

Chiang Mai SEO Conference 2023 was a turning point. The room was full of operators who do the work, not just talk about it. Here's what stuck with me.

Topical authority broke through. Koray Tuğberk Gübür's framework was the recurring reference. Speakers and attendees were talking about topical maps, entity coverage, and semantic content architecture as if they'd always been the foundation. They hadn't, and CMSEO 2023 was where the shift became visible.

Link building got more honest. The presentations on links focused on relevance, editorial quality, and outreach systems that actually work. Less PBN talk, more digital PR.

The community made the conference. Hallway conversations with Matt Diggity, Charles Floate, and other operators were as valuable as any session on stage. SEO is a craft that compounds when you're in the room with people who do it well.

I left CMSEO 2023 with new frameworks, new contacts, and a clearer sense of where the field was heading. Two years later, the bets I made at that conference still pay off.
